The Patio Lombok

About This Project

The Patio Lombok is the first restaurant designed and built by Bambook Studio in Kuta Lombok.

Completed in June 2019 and built to the highest standards, The Patio Building revolves around its two grand Mango Trees, which define the front outdoor sitting area and the courtyard (Patio) consecutively. Being the concept for the restaurant a mediterranean fusion cuisine of tapas and local products, the idea was to represent the same with the building concept, combining traditional muslim architecture from the Iberian Peninsula (Spain) together with local bricks from Balinese Temples and wrapped in a tropical garden. The brick work follows the “Aparejo Mudéjar” spanish building style, which was traditionally used in all the Andalusian Mosques and Spanish Muslim Traditional Buildings.

The combination of this style with the outdoor open spaces and tropical planting, gives the Patio building a unique mixture of flavours between both Mediterranean and Muslim Cultures. The venue, in the main street of Central Kuta, has become a well renown restaurant for its signature cuisine and a happening space for local events, working nomads and night time gatherings.

In terms of Sustainable performance and strategies, the Patio is a low impact building, fully insulated, using very energy efficient regulated equipment and built with permeable ground cover to avoid Heat Island Effect.
