Wood Cabin

Net Zero Project

Location: Serangan Beach Built-up area:. 72m2 approx. Solar system: 10kVa Year: 2023

The Wood Cabin was designed to meet the needs of Lombok’s growing expat community and satisfy their demand for an eco-friendly, comfortable home that meets Western standards while being affordable, fast and easy to build.

The Wood Cabin was carefully designed to reduce its environmental footprint and contribute to a low carbon future. This design contributes to 6 of the United Nations’ 17 SDGs.

It’s made from locally sourced teak from sustainable forestry: a local kebun, a teak plantation that is managed according to the circular principle and maintains soil structure without contributing to deforestation of rainforests in Kalimantan.

The construction reduces the use of cement as much as possible and has very low energy consumption and CO2 emissions, as the building is prefabricated and the material sourcing and construction process is very low. It can be disassembled and therefore complies with the principles of the circular economy: reduce, reuse and recycle. If you want to move it, you can take it apart and reuse its parts!
